Archive for the ‘eurostar deals’ Category

I wanted to go for a day trip to Paris during December but their site is quoting me hundreds and hundreds of pounds?! Surely there are last minute deals or a cheaper option?!

If it sells out, it sells out… The cheapest deals involve a Saturday night stay.

That said, the following can work:

- Set your home country to ‘USA’. This may need you to clear any cookies for eurostar.com, restart your browser and return to eurostar.com.

- Look on lastminute.com. They sometimes have cheaper deals than Eurostar themselves.

If all that fails… Consider flying. If you’re in London, the London City to Paris Orly service is quite convenient: both airports are central and manageable compared to Heathrow and Roissy-CDG.

Well as promised here is the video documenting my recent road trip around Europe. For two weeks I would have a whistlestop tour of five capital cities spending the majority of my time in hostels.

Each video will be dedicated to a new destination regardless of how many days I spend.

After completing a nightshift at Colchester Gen Hospital by catch the train to London Liverpool Street before using the underground service to get St Pancras where the first photos are taken. In my opinion the Eurostar and the train network in general is a superior way to travel. It is far more comfortable, quick and efficient than flying.

The Eurostar will take us all the way to Brussels in Belgium, from their we would use our inter-rail travel pass to take the train to the town of Brugge.

Bruges really is a lovely place to visit and comes highly recommended. While choosing our accommodation in England the most important criteria we look at were the previous reviews. One such place that got very good reviews was Andres bed-and-breakfast. While I was in a centralised as many of the other places we looked at we felt the positive reviews of other visitors was worth the extra time needed to travel into the centre of the town.

After enjoying Bruges for two days and thoroughly appreciating Andres help and advice we made our way to next destination, Berlin.

The video should be coming out very shortly, thank you for watching. If you enjoy the videos you can either subscribe to my blog was why you Tube channel and don’t forget you can leave a comment or contact me directly.

2 adults and 1 youth want to travel to paris from london next month. But the website is very confusing and the prices keep on changing. This is my first time using Eurostar, and i need some help.

Eurostar sells its tickets from the cheapest.
So for one train, second class, you can first buy say € 20 euro tickets, but they only have a few of them, so than they go on with € 50 Euro tickets and when those have sold the more expensive tickets will be sold and so on.
But different trains on one day sell their tickets at different speeds and they also have special offers.
(Prices are just as examples and have nothing to do with the real prices they charge.)

As a rule it is the best to buy on the day they start selling the tickets for the train you want, or as soon after as possible, (when you have made sure you can travel that day and such.)

But as the different trains sell tickets at different speeds, less popular trains often still have cheap tickets available when other trains do not.
So be as flexible as you can when ordering your tickets.
When you know when you want to travel you can ask the system to show you prices for the whole day, and select the cheapest one of those. Sometimes, if you can do so, you can get better prices a day earlier or later.

If you are really stuck, a travel agent often can help you to get the cheapest tickets, but you pay for the privilege.
